During an interview with the broadcasting team at Yankee Stadium on Saturday, Caitlin Clark said that she played a variety of sports growing up and loved them all. The WNBA rookie was spotted enjoying some pre-NFL action as the Indianapolis Colts took on the Arizona Cardinals at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
The Indiana Fever guard looked relaxed and composed in a black Nike T-shirt as she enjoyed some preseason football with the Colts winning 21-13. Clark received an enthusiatic welcome from the home crowd, who seem to have adopted the Iowa native as one of their own.
Clark's growing fanbase, particularly Indiana fans, were thrilled to see her at the game and took to social media to share their admiration for the All-Star.
"She is nearing Peyton Manning status in Indy," said a fan on X.
"It’s her city now," commented a fan.
"Caitlin Clark > Taylor Swift," stated another fan.
"CC in the house! I love that she is supporting the Colts. Let's Go!" said a fan.
"Caitlin Clark is The Queen of Indiana!" claimed another fan.
Clark was selected as the No. 1 overall pick by the Indiana Fever in the 2024 WNBA Draft and has had a major impact on the state.
Attendance and viewership figures have skyrocketed since her arrival, and her popularity has provided a major economic boost to both the WNBA organization and the state as a whole.
According to the Fever's mid-season report, ticket sales are up 264 percent year-over-year, while jersery sales are up 1193 percent. The demand for corporate partnerships has shot up as well.
Caitlin Clark has changed the trajectory of a struggling Indiana Fever organization
The Indiana Fever have struggled in the last three seasons, winning 24 of 108 games. They haven't won a playoff series since 2015. Caitlin Clark's energetic and lively performances on the court this season, though, have changed the trajectory of the franchise.
The Fever sit seventh in the WNBA standings with a 12-15 record and are on track to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016. They hold a one-game lead over the Chicago Sky and a three-game lead over the Atlanta Dream with 13 games remaining in the season.
Clark leads the Fever in points (17.6), assists (8.3), steals (1.4) and minutes per game (35.2).
