The New York Liberty vs. Chicago Sky was an entertaining match from start to finish. Although the Liberty showed they are a much more experienced and coherent team, the Sky tried to hold its ground and put up a fight against the 2023 WNBA runners-up.
Sabrina Ionescu stepped up in the absence of Breanna Stewart, scoring 28 points to lead the Liberty. Leonie Fiebich contributed 13 points, and Jonquel Jones did a bit of everything with 14 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and even three blocks. Ivana Dojkic became an unexpected hero for the Liberty thanks to her 12 points.
As for the Sky, Marina Mabrey was on a tear, scoring 21 points. Angel Reese finished the game with eight points and 16 rebounds after a rough shooting night. Michaela Onyenwere, like Dojkic on the other side, surprised everybody and scored 14 points in 20 minutes, shooting 6-for-7 from the field and 2-for-2 from 3-point distance.
As hard as the Sky tried, they were never in control of the game, and the Liberty played their cards well, using the time smartly to secure a hard-fought win. The Liberty now boasts a 20-4 record and continued as the best squad in the league.

New York Liberty vs. Chicago Sky Game Summary
The New York Liberty vs. Chicago Sky game started with the home team taking a seven-point lead in the first quarter. The Liberty bounced back with a notable second quarter, taking it by 29-13, going into halftime up nine points. The Sky tried to overcome the disadvantage in the second half, but the Liberty had an answer for every adjustment the Sky made.
Ionescu was keen to take this win, and after having three more players scoring on double digits, the Liberty left Wintrust Arena with their 20th dub of the season.
In contrast, Mabrey and Onyenwere were the only double-digit scorers for the Sky. Kamilla Cardoso couldn't keep up with Jones, even looking frustrated at some points. Angel Reese wasn't a factor in this game, barely making three shots in 13 attempts, ending her double-double streak. She did finish the game with 16 rebounds, but it wasn't enough for her team to get close to the Liberty.
