The New York Liberty and Las Vegas Aces is one of the best matchups in the WNBA and today, a new edition of this high-flying duel took place. Both teams are considered strong candidates to win the WNBA championship this year and whenever they clash, an elite game of basketball is guaranteed.

The Aces started with a strong first quarter, leading with 28-24. The second quarter was different as the Liberty took over with 18 points, and limited the Aces to just eight. Sabrina Ionescu led the way with 17 points in the first half, shooting 50% from the field, and grabbing three rebounds. Breanna Stewart contributed eight points, while Jonquel Jones added six.

On the other hand, A'ja Wilson scored 12 points while shooting 4 of 7 from the field, and added six rebounds. Kelsey Plum contributed 11 points while shooting 50% from the floor.

Jackie Young couldn't make an impact, scoring zero points in the first half after attempting four shots, including a 3-pointer. With Wilson and Plum carrying the team, it was hard for the Aces to keep up with the Liberty.

The Liberty continued its momentum in the third quarter, beating he Aces 17-15 to enter he fourth quarter with an eight-point lead. Sabrina Ionescu added four points to her account to finish the third with 21 units.

A'ja Wilson added six more to her account to finish the third period with 18, although her team was still away from the Liberty. The fourth quarter was more of the New York Liberty managing its advantage and holding off the Aces' attempts to get closer and hijack its win.

They got up 79-67 in the final two minutes of the game, putting the nail on the coffin for the Aces, who are yet to beat the Liberty this WNBA season.

New York Liberty vs Las Vegas Aces Game Summary

After a solid start from the Aces, the New York Liberty adjusted its gameplan and took another win to improve to 23-4 for the season. Sabrina Ionescu was on a tear, although she didn't need to go beast mode in the fourth quarter to impact the result.

In the end, Breanna Stewart finished the game with 18 points, seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Jonquel Jones recorded a double-double with 10 points and 17 rebounds. Leonie Fiebich contributed 12 units for the hottest team in the league. has

Despite having a promising start, Kelsey Plum couldn't help her team and A'ja Wilson's 24 points weren't enough to beat the Liberty. Plum and Gray scored 13 points each for an Aces team that have lost the regular-season series against their 2023 Finals opponents.
