El-Alfy is from Egypt, so Muhl's nickname for her fits. Cleopatra was one of the most famous queens in Egyptian history.

El-Alfy was born and raised in Cairo, and basketball is in her blood as her father, Ehab El-Alfy, is the coach of the Egypt women's basketball team. She made some noise at the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup in 2023 after a 29-point performance against China.

The 6-foot-5 center is currently listed as a freshman for UConn after redshirting in 2023 due to a knee injury. She's averaging 6.0 points and 5.1 rebounds this season, shooting 52.3% from the field.

Nika Muhl didn't have the best rookie seasons in the WNBA, limited to just garbage minutes under coach Noelle Quinn.

Muhl played in just 16 games last season and will likely miss the 2025 campaign after suffering a knee injury in October 2024. Like many WNBA players, she signed with an overseas team to continue playing and get paid. She joined Besiktas JK in Turkey and made her debut on Oct. 3 against rivals Fenerbahce.

The Croatian star tore her ACL and meniscus on her left knee in her first game after playing just 28 minutes. She intercepted the ball by jumping in the air and snatching it, but landed awkwardly on her leg.

UConn and Storm teammate Gabby Williams, who was playing for Fenerbahce, didn't leave her side as she was stretched to the locker room. Muhl has undergone surgery to repair her injury and could miss the entire 2025 WNBA season.
