Nika Muhl leaks hilarious exchange with ex-UConn teammate Paige Bueckers amid injury recovery

Seattle Storm player Nika Muhl is in the middle of rehab from a torn ACL and meniscus in her left knee, which has kept her sidelined since October 2024.

The young guard didn't have the chance to showcase her talents in the W last year, and just when she had the chance to play overseas, she picked up a season-ending injury in her first game in Turkey.

Muhl and former teammate and close friend Paige Bueckers picked up knee injuries in recent times and on Saturday, the Croatian player shared a fun exchange between them. Nika shared a screenshot of her chat with Bueckers, joking about how the UConn star silenced the notifications after asking how her knee was feeling.

"This how the convos be going nowadays @paigebueckers 🤣🤣," Muhl captioned the post.

Nika Muhl and Paige Bueckers have created a close relationship since they spent time at UConn. They are often seen exchanging words on social media, joking with each other and simply keeping up with one another's life.

After the 2024-25 NCAA season ends, Paige Bueckers could join Muhl in the WNBA, as she's considered the clear No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 Draft. That pick belongs to the Dallas Wings right now, but some reports suggested Bueckers might not be fond of the idea of playing with the Texas franchise.

Nika Muhl and Paige Bueckers have remained close over the years and one of the prime examples of their deep bond is the messages they leave on each other's social media posts.

Ahead of the new year, Bueckers thanked God with an Instagram post, drawing a lot of attention. As she thanked him for having a terrific year, Muhl reacted by predicting more good things were coming Bueckers' way.

"Next one gonna be even better 😛🙃," she commented underneath the post.

A couple of days later, it was Muhl who posted on Instagram. She showed off her outfit and even displayed her surgically repaired knee to fans in the post's caption.

"Stepping into the new year with a new knee be likeeee," Muhl wrote.

Bueckers didn't miss the chance and joked about Muhl's name and her new knee.

"New Kneeka," Bueckers said.

While Muhl is still rehabbing, Bueckers returned to action on Wednesday in a 71-45 win over St. John’s.
