Nika Muhl reserved a special 3-word reaction for Gabby Williams on social media. EuroBasket Women's Instagram handle shared a picture of Gabby Williams and congratulated her on becoming 2024's European Player of the Year.
Muhl dropped into the post's comments section to applaud her teammate for her latest achievement.
"Queen of Europe," Muhl commented.
Gabby Williams had a great run both internationally and in the WNBA last season. She was an important asset for the Seattle Storm and the French national team.
Williams helped France reach the final of the 2024 Summer Olympics, where they lost to the USA with a final score of 67-66.
Williams signed with the Storm midway through the season and helped them secure a playoff spot. However, she couldn't help her team get past the Las Vegas Aces in the first round of the playoffs.
Last season, the French star averaged 10.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in the WNBA. Nika Muhl was also with the Storm in her rookie season. She predominantly presumed a bench role and observed Williams and other veterans from the bench.
Nika Muhl sends New Year wishes with injury update in a stunning outfit
Nika Muhl played a short role for the Seattle Storm last season. She only played 16 games with an average game time of 3.6 minutes. However, after the league entered the offseason, Muhl decided to showcase her abilities in a different league.
Like many other WNBA athletes, the Seattle Storm guard joined an overseas league to make some extra money and polish her skills. Muhl joined Besiktas Basketball in the Turkish Women's Basketball League. Unfortunately, Muhl tore her ACL in her debut game for Besiktas on Oct. 3, 2024.
She was ruled out from any action on the court and underwent surgery. On Thursday, Nika Muhl shared pictures of herself on her Instagram with a New Year wish and injury update in the caption of her upload.
"Stepping into the new year with a new knee be likeeee," she captioned.
The post contained six pictures and one video featuring the Storm guard. The first entry on the post featured Muhl dressed in a matching grey-colored two-piece dress with the lower being a skirt. She wore a wine-red jacket, carried a black handbag and wore transparent green sunglasses on her face to complete her look.
The video on the post featured Muhl staring into the camera while walking. The final picture on the post contained an image of Muhl's knee post-recovery after the ACL surgery.
