WNBA journalist Roberta Rodrigues blasted critics for what she called "xenophobic" attacks on her credibility following her reports on Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever teammate, Damiris Dantas. On Saturday, Rodrigues reported on X that Dantas was protected by the Fever, along with Jordan Horston being protected by the Seattle Storm.

Rodrigues' report on X sparked speculation about the validity of her sources, prompting her to respond to the critics with another tweet:

"I know some people just can’t fathom the fact that I have privileged access to sources while not being from here, but I’ve been in the wbb world since 2008. My sources range from the Americas to Europe and further. No need to badmouth me just bc it upsets you. It is xenophobia :)" Rodrigues tweeted.

Rodrigues had previously made headlines when she slammed Caitlin Clark in September after she got assessed with her sixth technical foul of the 2024 season. Rodrigues claimed that Clark complained too much during games, allowing her teammates to "babysit" her.

Rodrigues also made claims about how Clark was supposedly perceived by her teammates and called it one of the reasons why the Fever star was hard to appreciate outside of her on-court brilliance.
