Angel Reese's rookie season has been deemed controversial by a majority of WNBA fans. The Chicago Sky forward has been criticized for how her rebounds number increase because of multiple misses under the basket. There's no denying that she's a remarkable rebounder, but her offensive game can be a lot better.
That's why, when 2K revealed Reese's ratings in NBA 2K25, plenty of fans disagreed. Reese has a 90 OVR RTG, excelling at rebounding (96), defending (84) and athleticism (75). Her inside scoring isn't the best by any means (64), but her outside scoring (75) raised eyebrows among fans.
Fans across Reddit and Twitter shared their opinion:
"You're lying right? No way her shot IQ should be over a 70," one fan commented.
"The fact that Reese is a 90 shooting .38 from right under the basket is hilarious," another fan wrote.
"What stats does Reese have to be a 90? Her Layup has to be like 65 and anything like dunk/shooting gotta be the lowest rating possible," another fan said.
Others went further and suggested what her rating should be.
"Reese should be like an 80 max," another fan commented.
Angel Reese claps back at people criticizing her rebounds
Angel Reese broke the WNBA single-season rebounding record against the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday. The forward said she wasn't aware of the milestone after the game, adding that contrary to what people think, she's not missing shots on purpose to grab her own rebounds.
"Coming into the league, I just knew my motor," Reese said. "Offensive rebounds and defensive rebounds is something that I know I can always do. I knew it was going to translate right away.
"That's something that a lot of people don't wanna do. A lot of people think it's because I get my own rebounds but statistically, it's not. A lot of people think it's because I'm the tallest on the court when I'm not the tallest on the court."
Angel Reese has expressed her desire to unlock her offensive potential while polishing her rebounding abilities. This first season confirmed that she can hold her own against veterans, but if she wants to reach the next level, the offseason presents a good opportunity to work on her offense.
