Angel Reese's former Chicago Sky teammate Chennedy Carter has been balling in China. While Carter has been left out of the plans of the Sky, it did not deter her from having another stellar outing in the WCBA.
Carer has not only been putting up excellent numbers but has also been keeping her fans updated about her exploits. On Saturday, she talked about her 50-point performance and declared that she wasn't slowing down.
"ngl please go back and watch tonight’s 50 piece plus the game ceiling shot on 51% shooting 😱 ! Not slowing down at ALL ! S/o to Chinese New Year 🧧 lol first break since November," Carter tweeted.
On Jan. 13, Chennedy Carter was left out of the qualifying offers made by the Sky to their three other players; Dana Evans, Michaela Onyenwere and Nikolina Milić. The move left Carter as a free agent.
Even though Carter has been averaging 31.1 points in the WCBA, not being considered as a part of the Sky's future wasn't that surprising. Carter is a ball-dominant guard and takes a lot of shots, perhaps not in line with the team's plans with Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso on the roster.
Given how good she was with Chicago last season, Carter's game could be useful to other WNBA teams.
Chennedy Carter makes her feelings clear on former teammate Angel Reese
On Tuesday, Chennedy Carter posted about her ability to make layups. However, the tweet was taken out of context by fans and was thought of as a shot at Angel Reese.
"i think the ability to consistently make layups just puts anyone in a different tier ! so important to score easy !" Carter wrote.
Carter clarified that her former teammate is a special player and she liked watching her play. She added that she was only talking about herself.
“Angel is a special player. I love watching her. This season, we had a great relationship and I don’t feel like the way things went on Twitter, it shouldn’t have went like that," Carter tweeted.
"i just focus on me , that was literally abt me and how special of craft it is. not bothered at all by the spins. you telling me how you really feel tbh. had nothing to do with anyone but myself," Carter wrote.
Last season, Carter was the leading scorer for the Chicago Sky. She averaged 17.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.
