Erica Wheeler has received overwhelming support from WNBA fans. Just a day ago, the Indiana Fever player had asked fans who wanted to buy her dinner to support the foundation for kids instead.
The fans came forward and supported her "The Wheeler Kid" foundation through the link that she had provided on her X, formerly known as Twitter.
Overwhelmed by fans' support, the Fever star also responded with a lovely gesture. Wheeler responded by giving out two tickets for the Fever's first playoff game against the Connecticut Suns in Round 1.
"See yall got my heart all lit up with all these donations 🫶🏾🙏🏾 Now I gotta do something special for the fans.
"I am giving away TWO TICKETS for tomorrow’s playoff game! And I am taking a picture with the lucky winner! Who in CT that’s a Fever fan??"
Before she made the announcement on X, Wheeler had shared the notification for the donations that she had received in her mail. Hundreds of fans sent her donations starting from $5 and going higher. She said that she found out after she came out of the practice.
The Fever and the Sun will face each other in the first round of the 2024 playoffs. Erica Wheeler and the Fever were ranked 6th after the regular season, three places behind the third seed Sun. Although Caitlin Clark and Co. would be underdogs against the Sun, it shouldn't be surprising if they win the series.
Erica Wheeler sends a shoutout to Iowa fans for overwhelming love
Having Caitlin Clark as a teammate has many benefits and Erica Wheeler has been a witness. On September 19, the Indiana Fever player posted on X that an Iowa fan paid for her dinner and cheered her to "kick a*s" in the Fever's next game.
Wheeler sent a shoutout to the Iowa fans through her social media.
“Nahhh yall Iowa fans are different. I am getting dinner at this restaurant here in DC and I go to ask for my check, the waiter said 'it’s already taken cared of from a fan from Iowa State. They said kick a*s tomorrow.'
“Well thankkkkk youuuuu!”
Despite not playing for Iowa, the Fever fans showed love to her because she is the teammate of their superstar Caitlin Clark.
