While Angel Reese was already popular in college, when she made the jump to the WNBA, her popularity skyrocketed. Now, as one of the most recognizable players in the WNBA, Reese is constantly getting recognized while out and about, and sometimes, her random run-ins with fans leave her feeling more concerned than anything.

This week, Reese deleted her Instagram after her New Year's Eve outfit went viral, sparking a slew of reactions from fans. Despite that, she has continued to post on other platforms despite her hiatus from Instagram.

In a new video reposted by MyMixtapez, Reese can be seen talking in a video at the gas station. The video starts with the Chicago Sky star saying that she doesn't like going to the gas station because people constantly roll up on her car.

As she was filming the video, the Sky forward rolled down her window for an impromptu exchange with fans who recognized her and stopped to get a picture.

"This why I don't like going to the gas station 'cause people always rolling up on my car," Reese said.

After the fan expressed disbelief in the fact that it was really Reese, she then continued with her video:

"That was a little scary, that's why I was like 'mhmm sure,' because at first, I don't know. When people get out of the car I be a little like (hesitant). Especially the world we living in right now. People get killed by the day." she said.

Angel Reese continues to post on various social media platforms despite deleting Instagram

As previously mentioned, after her post showing off her New Year's Eve outfit went viral, Angel Reese deleted her Instagram account to kick off 2025. The situation sparked widespread conversations and theories online as fans speculated about the development.

While some fans suggested that Reese was tired of social media as a whole, others wondered whether the move was done to help the Sky star focus on the upcoming inaugural season of Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier's Unrivaled league.

While it's still unclear why Reese deleted her Instagram account, she has continued to remain active on other platforms. For example, the video she posted above appears to be filmed on Snapchat. Additionally, she has continued to post on X, formerly known as Twitter. In addition to posting about her podcast, Unapologetically Angel on X, she's also been promoting rapper Lil Baby's album.

Whether or not she winds up bringing back her Instagram before the Jan. 17 premiere date for Unrivaled, only time will tell.
