"People thinking I'm numbering the amount of babies in my belly" - Brittney Griner's wife Cherelle Griner clears doubt over maternity post

Brittney Griner and her wife, Cherelle Griner, are expecting their first child together. In her Instagram post on Monday, Cherelle posted a picture of her baby bump with Brittney also in the frame. However, the caption of her picture created some confusion among followers.

Posting the picture on her IG handle, the wife of the WNBA player captioned the post:

"THREE," followed by a heart emoji.

However, a fan said that she was confused about the number.

"3 what?? Babies or what? These different numbers daily are confusing."

Another fan came to Cherelle's rescue and replied that the caption meant No. 3. Cherelle also replied to the comment, saying that some people thought she was numbering the number of babies she was going to deliver.

“Thanks friend. I’m glad you peeped the numbers! I’ve had people thinking I’m numbering the amount of babies in my belly,” Cherelle wrote.

This will be Cherelle and Brittany Griner's first child together. Brittney has two children from her previous relationship with Glory Johnson, a former WNBA player.

Brittney Griner thought her marriage with wife Cherelle was over after prison sentence in Russia

Brittney Griner was detained in Russia from February to December 2022 after receiving a nine-year prison sentence. She spent the darkest days of her life in prison thinking everything was over for her.

In a conversation with People in May, Griner said that during the time she was in prison, she thought that her marriage with wife Cherelle Griner might be in jeopardy.

“My basketball career would be over. I’d be in my early40s and out of shape, would have to find a new way to provide for my wife. And Relle. She assured me she’d wait, but 10 years was ridiculous.

“I went through so many emotions being locked up, and just thinking about nine years. We planned on having kids and doing all these amazing things together, and now I'm thinking, ‘Is that going to happen? How can I ask her to wait?’”

Brittney Griner also said that she gave Cherelle an out from the relationship. But it was Cherelle who told Griner not to say these things again. During her time in prison, Brittney told People that she used to look at Cherelle’s picture on her bedside and read and re-read letters from her.

When Brittney was released in December 2022, Cherelle and Brittney Griner reunited. They got married in 2019.
