Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese suffered a season-ending wrist injury last week and she has received plenty of support and well-wishes from her fans. One of Reese's loving fans is rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
The music artist sent her flowers along with a message to support Reese.
Reese shared a photo of the flowers she received from the rapper on Instagram along with the note.
"I'm always rooting for you twinnn," the note said. "Wishing you a speedy recovery!"
In her rookie season, Angel Reese played 34 games and averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game. Prior to her injury, she hadn't missed a single contest.
She impressed in her rookie season by being a double-double machine, registering 26 points-rebounds double-doubles. She also set the record for most consecutive double-doubles with 15 straight starting from Jun. 4 to Jul. 11.
In her first year in the league, she already set a career-high of 22 total rebounds (Aug. 25 vs Las Vegas Aces).
Angel Reese explains her injury on TikTok
Angel Reese played her last WNBA game on Sept. 6 against the LA Sparks. She recorded another double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds in that game.
After that, Reese announced that her season was over due to a wrist injury. Following her announcement, her distraught fans seemingly wanted more information on why she wasn't suiting up for the rest of the season.
As a response to her fans, Reese shared a video on TikTok to answer some questions about her season-ending injury. Reese explained that she hurt her wrist by falling following a foul, which in turn resulted in a small crack in her bone.
She explained that her doctors gave her the option to undergo surgery or skip it. However, opting out carried the risk of early arthritis and could have ended her career due to the nature of her injury.
The Sky rookie also shared that her cast will be removed in six weeks after the surgery, which she opted to have.
While Angel Reese won't be able to suit up for the rest of the year, her fans can rejoice that she'll be back doing her regular activities in a month and a half following the surgery.
She will be fully ready for the 2025 WNBA campaign.
