On Thursday, Minnesota Lynx guard Courtney Williams posted photos of her engagement to Shya on Instagram. Following the 2024 WNBA season's completion, Williams proposed to her partner. Before proposing, the Lynx's guard organized an unforgettable evening.

The athlete was dressed in black slacks and a dark cardigan. Her fiancé paired a little black purse with a black outfit.

The Lynx player blindfolded her partner and led her to a spot with a large sign that read, 'Will You Marry Me?'

"Wowwwww," Williams posted. "It’s a forever thing now. My fiancé yaaa hearrr meeee."

Shya posted in May that the two have been together since 2022. To commemorate the WNBA star's 30th birthday, Williams' girlfriend shared a video on Instagram.

"Happy 30th birthday to my person!! My best friend, my lover, my protector and diary," Shya posted. ... "Thank you for everything my love, I love you to the moon & back! I know it’s your birthday but you’re the real gift sweetie Happy birthday!!!"

The couple haven't announced the date of their wedding.

How did Courtney Williams perform in the 2024 WNBA season?

Courtney Williams became one of the most important players for the Lynx last season. Williams finished the season as the team's third-best scorer, averaging 11.1 points. As the lead guard for Minnesota, the one-time All-Star led the team in assists with 5.5.

She proved to be an all-around player as the team's third-best rebounder. Williams averaged 4.7, mostly from defensive rebounds. She helped the team in the WNBA Finals run and slightly increased her production.

The seasoned guard scored in double figures in 24 games, including two with 20 or more points. Williams’ playmaking was evident with three double-doubles during the regular season.

In 12 playoff games, the 5-foot-8 guard averaged 13.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 6.0 assists. Like in the regular season, she finished third in team scoring and shot 44.4% from beyond the arc.
