Since arriving in the WNBA last season, Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have taken the basketball world by storm. This has also led to endless comparisons between the two and a spirited debate about who is better.

The two WNBA stars were also compared during their college basketball careers, but this debate became an even bigger rivalry after them entering the professional world.

"The Fumble" YouTube channel uploaded a video where Samaria Terry asked the American academic Marc Lamont Hill about his opinion on Ice Cube offering $10 million to Clark over Angel Reese.

Lamont Hill delved deeper into the Clark-Reese rivalry, supporting rapper Ice Cube's decision to choose Clark over Reese for his 3x3 basketball league, "Big 3."

"Ice Cube did the right thing. Ice Cube is building a league that brings in eyeballs. Caitlin Clark brings in eyeballs," Lamont said. (15:30)

Before expressing his support for Ice Cube, Lamont praised Angel Reese for her talents and expressed his support for both players.

"I am a huge Caitlin Clark fan, I am huge Angel Rees fan and it's a shame that we are in a context where we have to put them against each other," Lamont said.
"Leading the league in rebounds is very difficult and I know a lot of people say that Mosses Malone rebounds and you know she's getting her misses, but if you look at the advanced stats, even if you take out all of her rebounds from her own misses, she still leads the league in rebounds. Statistically, she may be the best rebounder in WNBA history."

Later, the academic clarified his stance and said that he was upset with the fans who felt the need to impose Clark as a superior player on other black athletes in the league.

"What I am mad at is not Ice Cube. Ice Cube is right. I am not mad at the WNBA for putting Caitlin games on TV. I am mad at some of these people that be caping for Caitlin so much, they love Miss Anne so much, they think the white man's ice is so much colder, that they think that to praise Caitlin Clark, they have to beat up on all the other black women in the WNBA."

Lamont then ended his statement explaining that Caitlin Clark is not the first leading basketball player in the WNBA and is not the best basketball player in the league right now.

He showed his belief in the Fever star and said that she is a generational talent and will be the best player in the future.

Caitlin Clark turned down $10 million offer from the rapper Ice Cube

In June, Ice Cube appeared on the "Dan Patrick Show" where he revealed that he had offered $10 million to the Indiana Fever to play in his 3x3 basketball league, "Big 3." However, the rapper did not receive a positive response from Caitlin Clark's agents on his proposal.

When the show's host asked Ice Cube about the offer, the rapper explained it to the audience.

"It was two years, $5 million a year," Cube said. "Plus, we were going to do cool stuff with merch and I think we was even talking about percentage in team ownership. We believe her coming into the BIG3 would be such a big deal that all boats would rise and the league would benefit from the attention, and to see if she could actually do it against competition."

Furthermore, when the host asked if the offer was still available for Clark, the rapper denied it and clarified that he had moved on as the Indiana Fever star was more invested in her WNBA career.
