Political activist Riley Gaines slammed DiJonai Carrington on Saturday after the Connecticut Sun star wore anti-Donald Trump merch ahead of the Mist BC's Unrivaled duel against the Phantom BC on Friday. Carrington's shirt read "The F--- Donald Trump Tour" and Gaines was quick to jump in with her critique.
Riley took to X to take a jab at Carrington by recalling the infamous incident from September 2024, wherein the Sun guard poked Caitlin Clark in the eye during their WNBA matchup.
"So, you’re telling me the same girl who deliberately gouged Caitlin Clark in the eye then laughed about it also wore a hoodie that said, "The F--- Donald Trump Tour"?! I'm shocked," Gaines tweeted.
Following her initial jab, Riley Gaines brought up LeBron James as she critiqued Carrington with another tweet.
"What has Donald Trump done to make your life worse? Keep LeBron off the court? 😭😂 pleaseeee," Gaines tweeted.
It was not the first time that Gaines slammed DiJonai Carrington as she'd previously alleged that the WNBA star intentionally poked Caitlin Clark in the eye. However, Carrington has always maintained that the hit was not intentional.
