Napheesa Collier and her husband Alex Bazzell played the "just give me my money" prank on their daughter, Mila, and didn’t hold back. Collier posted a video on Instagram on Tuesday, showing Mila as the target of the prank, though the parents eventually gave in.
The prank involves saying “just give me my money” followed by applause, with one person intentionally left out to create an awkward moment. In this instance, Napheesa Collier and Alex Bazzell chose their daughter Mila as the target, making her repeat “just give me my money” three times before they finally gave in and applauded.
You can see the video on the last slide of Collier's post below, where she referred to Mila as an “unfazed queen.”
Bazzell commented on the post, saying:
“😂😂😂 Poor Mila.”
LA Sparks frontcourt player Azura Stevens also commented and found it cute how the parents couldn’t resist their daughter.
“The way yall caved hahahahaha omg milaaaaaa,” Stevens said.
Former Minnesota Lynx star and current assistant coach Rebekkah Brunson also chimed in, noting Mila’s persistence:
“She said “nah…yall gonna clap for me” 😂😂❤️.. and y’all did!!!”
Napheesa Collier’s daughter shares sweet moment with Sabrina Ionescu during WNBA Finals
The 2024 WNBA Finals are already being hailed as one of the league's best playoff series, with Napheesa Collier leading the Minnesota Lynx and Sabrina Ionescu and Breanna Stewart spearheading the New York Liberty.
The closely fought series ultimately went to the Liberty in five games, though not without some controversy. Amid the intensity of the Finals, a touching moment captured attention when Collier’s daughter, Mila, was seen with Ionescu and her husband, Hroniss Grasu.
After the video gained traction online, Alex Bazzell revealed that Mila had been asking about Ionescu since the Paris Olympics.
USA Today’s Lindsay Schnell shared in an August article that kids accompanying Team USA players at the Olympics were particularly drawn to Ionescu.
"As for who the favorite non-mom on Team USA is, there was no question: All the kids gravitate toward New York guard Sabrina Ionescu, who each mom said she’d hire as a nanny. Ionescu called it an honor to be chosen for that role," Schnell wrote.
Throughout the postseason, Ionescu averaged 16.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists, and was a key player in Game 3 of the Finals, where she nailed a game-winning 3-pointer from the logo.
