Las Vegas Aces superstar A'ja Wilson is one of the league's most popular figures and has the difficult task of constantly dealing with coaches, fans, media and sponsors. Yet somehow, it is one of her former teammates that seems to be ruffling her feathers.
With the WNBA offseason in full swing, Alysha Clark has been taking some time to work on her Spanish skills. Clark's lessons are obviously going well with the former Aces forward texting Wilson full messages in Spanish. While most people would feel joy and applaud Clark's attempts at self improvement, it seems to be having the opposite affect on Wilson.
On Monday, A'ja Wilson shared a hilarious post ripping into free agent Alysha Clark on Threads:
"AC been taking Spanish classes and now she think she’s just sooooooo bilingual and texting me in Spanish…..😒 my teammates really know how to get on my nerves."
Alysha Clark has plenty of international experience under her belt and a good grasp of the Spanish language could come in handy during her travels. Over her career, she has played for teams in Israel, Turkey, Poland and France.
Clark has played 381 games with three different franchises. In 2023, the veteran was rewarded for her hard work with a two-year, $220,000 contract that ended in 2024.
Wilson and Clark were teammates on the Las Vegas Aces over the last two seasons and developed a close friendship along the way. They were both part of the 2023 team that won the WNBA championship, defeating the New York Liberty in four games.
"I need to block Alysha Clark": A'ja Wilson asks fans for help after flood of messages from teammate
Surprisingly, Monday was not the first time that Alysha Clark got on A'ja Wilson's nerves. In September, Wilson called on the fans to save her after her direct messages were being flooded by her Clark.
In a comical post on her X account, Wilson put her foot down and even threatened to block Clark after receiving a series of messages:
"How can you block a person from sending you DMs cause I need to block @Alysha_Clark lmao she’s reached her limit."
Wilson's comment led to a heartwarming response from Clark who came out defending her actions:
"This is CRAZYYYYYY😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I just want to share things with you🥹🤣"
Wilson obviously likes her space and Clark may be on her last strike after one too many messages.
