A'ja Wilson is on a monstrous run this season, averaging 28.0 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.4 blocks per game. The Las Vegas Aces star currently leads the league in points, rebounds and blocks.
WNBA great Rebecca Lobo joined Malika Andrews on ESPN's NBA Today to discuss Wilson's impressive growth and how she has been even more dominant this season.
"She's been ridiculous," Lobo said. "Watching the WNBA finals last year A'ja Wilson looked like the best player in the world."
Lobo listed a couple of key improvements in Wilson's game that have made her even more of an unstoppable force in the WNBA than in previous seasons. The analyst pointed out that Wilson has been playmaking more in her games.
"She's getting defensive boards and pushing the ball the other way. She is averaging 2 and a half assits per game this season which is assists more than she was last year but her turnover rate has not gone up."
As per Lobo, another area where Wilson made incredible progress in her game is her willingness to take the three-point shot and her efficiency there. She pointed out that last season Wilson hit nine three-pointers, but this season is just halfway done and Wilson already has eight three-pointers.
A'ja Wilson is about to drop her signature shoe with Nike
Last month, Nike announced it was working with A'ja Wilson on coming up with a signature sneaker line for the Las Vegas Aces star. On June 21, Wilson uploaded a video on her official Instagram account teasing the release of her new product line.
And last week, Wilson dropped a post on her Instagram revealing the logo and name for her signature product line. Her collaborative sneakers with Nike will be called the A'Ones and the logo for the product line is well in tune with modern aesthetics.
Following the timeline of her posts, we could have another announcement or teaser for her new sneakers in the coming week or so.
