Caitlin Clark has managed to put on a show on several occasions in her rookie campaign and things only seem to be getting better for her. Along with the success and praise she has garnered, there have also been criticisms from some fans and analysts.
However, former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III decided to call out the critics after Clark secured her second triple-double last night.
It was another electric performance from the Fever guard who poured on 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists against the LA Sparks. It was a stat line that proved crucial in securing the 93-86 home win, which also marked the team's fifth straight victory.
RGIII shared his comments on X. The post also included an action scene from 'Matrix: Reloaded'.
"Caitlin Clark haters been trying all year to discredit her. Using every hatred-filled stat or excuse to not show her love she has earned. Now they have no choice but to acknowledge she is what the WNBA needed to go to levels it's never seen before. Get that hate out your heart."
There are still some who doubt what they are witnessing from Caitlin Clark. It's all a matter of preference for some basketball fans but one can't deny how impressive she has been once she finally found her footing in the WNBA.
Caitlin Clark talked about not being satisfied with making the WNBA playoffs
From being part of a winless team at the start of the season to securing a spot in the playoffs, the season came at the young Indiana Fever squad quick. But they are here all the more ready for it.
During an interview with ESPN's Michael Voelpel, Clark revealed that she was not satisfied with just making the WNBA playoffs. She is looking to pull off more than just securing a position to compete in the postseason.
"It's definitely a big moment for this place, but at the same time, I came in with the expectation that this is what's going to happen," Clark said. "For me, this isn't a party. Yeah, it's great. But there's so much left to be done. I'm not just happy to be in the playoffs. I feel like we have the type of team that can win and advance."
The Indiana Fever are sixth in the WNBA standings with a .529 win percentage to boot. They have anchored in on their offensive identity and playing well off one another. They rank third offensively (103.4) around the league and have showcased their brilliance at that end.
In the process, the team continues to look impressive as they further strengthen their chemistry and camaraderie on the court.
