WNBA fans praised Angel Reese following her ninth straight double-double, tying Candace Parker for most double-doubles in a single season. Reese finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds in the Chicago Sky's 95-83 loss to the Las Vegas Aces at the Wintrust Arena on Thursday.

The Sky were looking to extend their winning streak to three games, heading into Thursday's showdown with the back-to-back defending champions. However, the Aces used a huge second quarter to take control of the game.

A'ja Wilson proved why she's the favorite to win the MVP with 31 points on 10-for-19 shooting from the field. Jackie Young had 22 points and three assists, while Kelsey Plum added 21 points and five assists. Marina Mabrey and Chennedy Carter had 21 and 20 points, respectively, for the Sky.

Angel Reese joined Parker as the only players in WNBA history to record nine straight double-doubles in a season. Parker recorded her streak during the 2015 WNBA season.

Fans can't get enough of Reese's streak and some have already anointed her as the Rookie of the Year:

"Rookie of the year. No doubt," a fan wrote.
"Everyone is hating on her but she has talent!" another fan commented.
"BEST ROOKIE IN THE LEAGUE AND IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE," one fan claimed.

Others are just amazed at how good this year's rookie class has been, with Angel Reese dominating in Chicago and Caitlin Clark doing her thing in Indiana.

"This rookie class is historic. So much talent all around the league now," a fan wrote.
"Jalen Duren of the WNBA," one fan claimed.
"That's cool. Would have been cooler if they won tonight," another fan remarked

With their 95-83 defeat to the Las Vegas Aces, the Chicago Sky dropped to 6-10 for the season. The Sky are currently ninth in the WNBA standings, just behind the Indiana Fever and Atlanta Dream. Things won't get easier for Angel Reese and company since they have a tough schedule ahead.

The Sky will continue their homestand on Sunday as they welcome the 2024 WNBA Commissioner's Cup Champions Minnesota Lynx at the Wintrust Arena. They'll follow it up with three straight road games - the first against the Atlanta Dream, and the rest against the Seattle Storm.

Atlanta remains a solid team, while Seattle is one of the best teams in the league this season. After the road trip, the Sky will face the Dream again, followed by back-to-back games versus the New York Liberty. They end the first half of the season on July 16 against the Las Vegas Aces.
