New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu and her husband, Hroniss Grasu, visited Pasadena, California, to watch the annual Rose Bowl. The couple supported their former college team, the Oregon Ducks, face the Ohio State Buckeyes.
However, their alma mater lost 41-21 in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal game on Wednesday.
The top-ranked and top-seeded Ducks (13-1) trailed 34-8 at halftime as the game's outcome wasn't what Ionescu and Grasu had hoped for from their visit as the sixth-ranked Buckeyes (12-2) rolled.

Sabrina Ionescu selected Caitlin Clark as her 3-point shooting teammate
During the 2024 NBA All-Star game, Sabrina Ionescu and Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry went head-to-head in a 3-point shooting contest. The Liberty point guard did not back down and almost beat Curry. However, the Warriors star was determined to protect his reputation as one of the best shooters.
In November, Ionescu was rumored to be part of the 2025 NBA All-Star festivities. However, it will feature former teammates Curry and Klay Thompson. In her appearance on the Big 10 Network, the All-Star said that she'd want to have a teammate against the former Splash Brothers.
When asked which teammate she'd want to have to outshoot the NBA stars, the three-time All-Star named the Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark.
"If I had to choose, I am taking Caitlin Clark on my team," Ionescu said.
With 122 3-pointers made in 2024, Clark topped the league in that category. Ionescu, however, came in at No. 5 with 107. Both stars have built their reputation as some of the league's best outside shooters.
With their duo, they can challenge Curry and Thompson in the 2025 All-Star Weekend.
