Sabrina Ionescu was a picture of gratitude in her latest Instagram post. The New York Liberty star gave her husband Hroniss Grasu a wholesome shoutout while subtly throwing in an injury update. Having turned 27, the sharpshooter shared memories of her year, including winning a gold at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, followed by her maiden WNBA championship.
Also part of the series of images was her successful UCL thumb procedure and the life after where Grasu proved to be a brilliant support system. Ionescu wrote:
"26, thank you ✨ Married my best friend, won a gold medal 🥇, and a WNBA championship 🏆 all in the same year. God is good. Beyond grateful for everything this year had to offer, and thankful for everyone a part of my circle🫶🏼 27… Let’s get it! ps: getting my thumb fixed was quite the bday present 👍🏼"
The injury update comes as good news for the guard and the Liberty outfit as they can expect her to be ready by the start of the 2025 season. She suffered a high-grade UCL tear in her right, shooting hand during Game 4 of the WNBA Finals against the Minnesota Lynx.
Sabrina Ionescu, a former Oregon star and No. 1 pick of the 2022 Draft class was NY's second-leading scorer in the playoffs averaging 16.9 points per game as the Liberty clinched their first championship in franchise history. As for Grasu, his star wife has never been short of her praises for him.

Sabrina Ionescu and Grasu went official on social media in 2021 and the pair got engaged in 2023. The Liberty star announced the news with a series of pictures on Instagram, including the one when Grasu was down on one knee.
According to People, Ionescu believed she was going to a photoshoot for GQ, but it turned out to be a surprise that Grasu had planned with her agents.
"I was completely shocked and caught off guard because he played it off so well,” Sabrina Ionsecu said. Afterward, their friends and family came up in a party bus to celebrate with the happy couple. “I couldn’t stop taking pictures with my ring. This night was just so special."
Sabrina Ionescu's husband Grasu played college football at the University of Oregon before being drafted by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 2015 NFL draft. He has been a journeyman in the league plying his trade for the Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans, San Francisco 49ers, and the Las Vegas Raiders.
