The Seattle Storm will face the Las Vegas Aces for the first time this season in the WNBA. Seattle is coming off an 87-78 loss to the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday but it is 8-2 in its last 10 games. After ending with one of the worst records in the league last year, the Storm will be raring to test their mettle against Las Vegas.
The two-time defending champs are a highly-touted team but they are struggling. Becky Hammon’s squad holds a 6-6 record, including 1-5 in their last six games. The Aces’ defense will have to answer the bell to stay above .500 in their win-loss slate.

Seattle Storm vs Las Vegas Aces: Game Preview:
The Seattle Storm defense has been one of the biggest surprises this season in the WNBA. After last year’s performance, they have stepped up on that end. They will need to be on top of their game when they try to beat the star-studded Aces.
While defense has been the Storm’s calling card this year, the opposite can be said of the Aces. The defending champs are not executing with the same precision and edge this year. They are 10th in the WNBA in defensive rating with 104.2. Only the Dallas Wings and the Indiana Fever are worse than them in that category.

Seattle Storm vs Las Vegas Aces: Prediction
The Aces have been in a funk since the start of June. Their once ferocious defense has all but disappeared during their 2-5 stretch this month. And yet, it’s tough to bet against them particularly when playing at home.
The Storm have nothing to lose and will push the Aces. Las Vegas, though, doesn’t want to fall below .500 for the first time in two years. A’ja Wilson and Co. will step up to defend their home court and likely win against the spread.
