Shaquille O'Neal appeared on Angel Reese's "Unapologetic Angel" podcast, where the NBA icon expressed his reaction to the Chicago Sky rookie's viral Instagram post. Shaq told Reese to imagine dunking in the short dress she was seen wearing in her viral Instagram video.
Reese tried to stop Shaq in between his statements, but the NBA icon insisted the Chicago Sky rookie let him finish speaking. There was an awkward atmosphere after Shaq completed his statement. Legion Hoops uploaded the segment's video from the podcast episode and posted it on X.
Fans flooded the post's comments section with their opinions on the video. One fan compared Shaq to Pelicans' star Zion Williamson.
"Shaq is just Zion with rings!"
The fan compared Shaq to Zion as the Pelican star was at the center of many controversies involving several women last year. Other fans joined the bandwagon and expressed similar sentiments.
"Shaq is a creep fr," @8_24Mamba4Ever said.
"Shaq creepin hard lol has to repeat himself for good measure. She had every right to be uncomfortable. He's twice her age," @YANGS1K said.
"Shaq so weird," @sitenyk said.
Another fan highlighted the relationship between Shaq and Reese.
"isn’t he supposed to be a father figure to her," @eyetestenjoyer said.
"Shaq been a weirdo but yall love him," @murdamonkk said.
Shaquille O'Neal and Angel Reese have known each other for a while now. The NBA Icon was an avid supporter of Reese during her rookie season in the WNBA and he is also the president of Reebok, the sportswear giant that Reese has a contract with.
Angel Reese slams back at Shaquille O'Neal's suggestion to encourage more dunks in the WNBA
Shaquille O'Neal and Angel Reese talked about a lot of things during the NBA Icon's appearance on the Sky star's podcast.
During one segment, the duo discussed the scarcity of dunks in the WNBA. However, Shaq had a solution that would solve the issue and encourage the players to dunk more. However, Reese was quick to shoot down his suggestion.
"I have a solution for that, but nobody's gonna like my solution. The WNBA should lower the rims to encourage more dunks," Shaq said.
"Just so we can dunk? No! I hate when men say that," Reese said.
Shaq made comparisons between men's and women's basketball and stated that dunks were the only thing missing from women's basketball. However, Angel Reese wasn't convinced that lowering the hoop to dunk would change anything.
