Fans lavish praise on Cameron Brink after Sparks' rookie enjoys career night against Wings

LA Sparks forward Cameron Brink received praise from fans on Sunday after she notched up a career-high 21 points in a WNBA game against the Dallas Wings. Brink looked every bit the two-way player she was touted to be, and while LA lost 84-83, her plays had the players in the league and the fans taking notice.

Brink also added two rebounds, three assists, and three blocks as the fans not only gave her, her flowers but also compared her with Minnesota Timberwolves forward Karl-Anthony Towns saying she was better than the 4x NBA All-Star.

One of the fans minced no words with the comparison:

"She better than KAT"

More reactions followed:

@Beautflippaz likened Brink to an NBA center.

"She play just like an nba center.. tall as hell wit 2 rebounds"

The "Queen" comment wasn't far off. @Serarryk93 said:

"My queen"

@Ivancruz_95 had a rich compliment:

"New face of the league"

One of the fans felt she was a rightful candidate for Rookie of the Year. @godpunishdevi1 tweeted:

"ROY"

@jdotdot213 had a punning way of putting it.

"She’s on the brink of being something special."

There were meaningful contributions from Dearica Hamby with 19 points and Lexie Brown with 12 points, but it was not enough for the Sparks to win. The loss now sees them at 1-4 and the second-worst record in the league behind the 1-6 Indiana Fever.

Cameron Brink joins A'ja Wilson to set the tone with a monster record against Wings

Cameron Brink was off the blocks in electric fashion against the Wings on Sunday. The forward joined Las Vegas Aces center A'ja Wilson as the only player in the WNBA to notch up 12+ points and 2+ blocks in the first quarter of the game. She made two 3-pointers in the first period and added six more points along with two blocks matching Wilson.

It has been a good start for Brink, at least stat-wise, as the rookie is averaging 10.8 points and 2.4 rebounds. She's shooting 52.8% from the field and 42.9% from the deep. The forward has cemented herself as the third-leading scorer behind Hamby (20.5 points) and Brown (12.2 points).

Up next, Cameron Brink and the Sparks face Caitlin Clark and the Fever again on Tuesday (May. 28) at 7 pm ET. The last time both sides met, the Fever scored their only win of the season.
