Some WNBA fans called out Caitlin Clark on social media following her workout claim on TikTok. Clark and the Indiana Fever have several days off before playing the Washington Mystics on Wednesday. She spent some time in the gym with her teammates Aliyah Boston and Katie Lou Samuelson.
Boston posted a video on TikTok showing off their workout routines. They lifted weights to the tune of One Direction, chosen by Clark, and flexed their muscles at the end of the video.
Clark, the 2024 first overall pick, commented a couple of times on Boston's video. She admitted that she was in charge of the workout playlist and claimed that she was taking it easy in the gym and could have lifted more.
Some WNBA fans called out Caitlin Clark for "lying" about her workout routine. One fan even compared her to LeBron James, who famously had a meme about "capping" after saying he had predicted Kobe Bryant's 81-point game.
"She really is the female version of LeBron," one fan wrote.
"Chill. Disrespectful asf to LeBron. My HS backup PG would be better than that woman," another fan claimed.
"I thought Clark told everyone that she wasn't on social media?" a fan asked.
One of the possible reasons why Caitlin Clark is hitting the weight room more often is the physicality of the WNBA. She has been targeted since turning pro but has adjusted well enough to lead the Indiana Fever to a 9-13 record after an awful start to the campaign.
"Take it easy on those knees. No weights please," one fan pleaded.
"Someone has to get them a real S&C coach… they're gonna hurt themselves," a fan suggested.
"Lord, CC is so small. She just falls over barely hit by player. She shoots the ball so far back it knocks her down," another fan remarked.
Indiana Fever coach compares Caitlin Clark with WNBA legend
Following the Indiana Fever's impressive win over the New York Liberty, where Caitlin Clark posted a triple-double, coach Christie Sides compared her superstar rookie with Diana Taurasi.
Sides explained why she thinks Clark resembles Taurasi, who had a lot of things to say to the Iowa product before the season started.
"I'm always going to make a case for my players. First and foremost, she is the most competitive human being I've ever met. I really compare her to Diana Taurasi.
"She's always looking to find ways to get better. 'How can I help the team? What can we do?' ... But she just wants to win. She just wants to win and to me, she's going to be my Rookie of the Year every day," Sides said. [H/T Marca]
