During her pregame interview ahead of the Indiana Fever's matchup against the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday, Caitlin Clark had high praise for her idol, WNBA legend Maya Moore. The Lynx have scheduled Moore's jersey retirement for Aug. 24, which also coincides with their next matchup against the Fever.

When asked about her role in the upcoming event, Clark expressed excitement and said that it would be kind of like a full-circle moment for her.

"I was super excited when I saw that that was the game they were gonna do it at. She deserves it, I know the fans will be absolutely incredible," Clark said.
"If you would've told me as a young kid that I'd be playing in the game that her jersey is retired at, it's kinda full circle for me too. She was my favorite player ever growing up and that was who I loved watching. She was like my LeBron James as a kid. To just be in the building that night and to say I got to play in that game is super cool."

Maya Moore is one of the biggest legends in the history of women's basketball. The Lynx legend has led the team to four WNBA titles in 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017, besides being the WNBA MVP in 2014. Along with many other accolades, Moore was also named Rookie of the Year in 2011, an honor that may have Caitlin Clark's name written on it for this season.
