Fans reacted as Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark failed to keep her emotions in control during the team's disappointing 101-93 defeat to the Dallas Wings at the College Park Center in Arlington on Wednesday. In their last game before the All-Star break, Clark put on a dazzling performance, but it wasn't enough for Indiana to beat the team with the worst record (6-19) in the league.

During one moment in the game, Caitlin Clark was furious when she headed towards the bench during a timeout. The Fever rookie took the water bottle from one of the staff and threw it on the floor in frustration. The sudden outburst left one of the Dallas Wings staff startled.

Hoops fans reacted to Clark's demonstrative anguish. Several WNBA fans criticized the former Iowa superstar for her antics.

"I like Caitlin, but she is a sore loser," a fan wrote.

"I’m not even sure why she’s acting like this. They played well. Just couldn’t defend well down the stretch. Record night in assists. It’s also very disrespectful to do that to the team. But it’s going to be called passion because it’s her," another X user said.

Another section of hoops fans underlined the importance of Clark keep her composure during games.

Caitlin Clark's record-breaking performance goes in vain

Caitlin Clark created history by recording 19 assists as the rookie broke the WNBA record for most assists in a game.

The 22-year-old also became the quickest to complete the double of 400 points and 200 assists after she notched up the milestone in her 26th WNBA outing. Her brilliant outing was overshadowed by the Fever losing the game, though.

Overall, Caitlin Clark finished the game with 24 points, 19 assists and six rebounds. The rookie shot 10-of-19 from the field, including 2-of-9 from the 3-point range.
