Chicago Sky to start the 2025 WNBA season against the Fever

Next season, the league will implement its new 44-game schedule, a four-game increase to their usual 40-game season. The Chicago Sky will start their campaign on May 18 for the Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark rivalry.

When the schedule was released, Tyler Marsh, the Chicago Sky's new head coach, talked about the excitement for the upcoming season.

"Every year the anticipation is high when the schedule is released," Marsh said. "With 44 games on our schedule this season, we have more opportunities to build toward championship contention. Skytown, we promise to give it our all every single night and we will make the city and the fans proud."

League commissioner Cathy Engelbert was excited to reveal the schedule.

"We look forward to tipping off the WNBA’s 29th season in May of 2025 and continuing to build on the success of last season, when the WNBA delivered its most-watched Draft and All-Star Game, and set records for viewership, attendance, digital consumption and merchandise sales, Engelbert said.

Given the history between Reese and Clark, the Sky's season opener will be a must-see game for fans of the league.
