"So aggressive" - Angel Reese lauds LSU's Aneesah Morrow's rebounding against Albany

Former LSU star Angel Reese may already be a pro, but she continues supporting her alma mater. She still tunes in to the Tigers' games, and their matchup on Sunday against Albany is no exception.

Reese was impressed by former teammate Aneesah Morrow's aggressiveness in grabbing rebounds.

"Nees be snatching rebounds so aggressive," Reese posted on X. "Love that for her!"

At the time of writing, the LSU vs Albany game is at halftime. So far, Morrow has grabbed two defensive and two offensive boards. LSU's Flau'jae Johnson is the leader on the boards so far, with seven.

LSU is also leading in boards with 28, while Albany has 13. However, Albany is leading the game 38-34 at halftime 38-34.

Morrow is leading the SEC in rebounds per game with an average of 14.0.

Angel Reese and Aneesah Morrow began their college careers playing somewhere else. Reese spent her freshman and sophomore years with Maryland, while Morrow played for DePaul.

Despite only playing two seasons for LSU, Reese carved her name into the program's history books. Reese, known for her rebounding, is among the leaders in total rebounds in the college's history.

Reese is sitting at No. 3 in defensive rebounds with 581. She is behind only Sylvia Fowles (1049) and Faustine Aifuwa (619), respectively. Meanwhile, Morrow has also found herself in the top 10. She now has 372 rebounds.

Reese's name is also in other statistics on LSU women's basketball leaderboards. She is No. 1 in box +/- with 16.5, while Morrow is second with 13.3.

Reese is No. 2 in total offensive rebounds with 415, second in total rebounds with 996. She holds the number one spot for total rebound percentage with 22.8 and total rebounds per game with 14.4.

Her elite rebounding has also translated into the WNBA. In her first season as a pro, she averaged 13.1 rebounds per game, which led the league. Most of those rebounds came at the offensive end, where she grabbed 172, which was also the league-leading number. In terms of defensive rebounds, she came in fifth with 274.

When it comes to total rebounds, she was only five boards shy of tying league leader A'ja Wilson. Wilson finished the 2024 season with 451, while Reese had 446.
