While WNBA star Angel Reese is preparing for the start of the inaugural season of Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier's Unrivaled 3x3 basketball league, the Chicago Sky standout has also been keeping an eye on the case of missing 13-year-old Na'Ziyah Harris.

Harris was last seen alive over a year ago, and this week, 42-year-old Jarvis Butts was charged with "first-degree murder, second-degree criminal sexual conduct, and child sexual-abusive activity" in the case. According to a report from The Detroit News, which relayed direct quotes from Judge Aliyah Sabree of Detroit's 36th District Court, Butts allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted Harris.

During the ordeal, he allegedly attempted to perform an abortion on the 13-year-old, which led to her death. Butts is then alleged to have tried to cover up the murder.

In response to the latest news surrounding the case, Reese weighed in on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"This Na’Ziyah case is so sad man," Reese wrote in the post.

According to a report from CBS Detroit, after days of testimony, the judge decided there was enough evidence against Butts for a trial.

Angel Reese was blown away by Unrivaled's facilities

While Angel Reese has been keeping up with the Na'Ziyah Harris case, the WNBA standout is also preparing for the inaugural season of Unrivaled 3x3 basketball. After committing to playing for the league, Reese was placed in Rose Basketball Club.

Alongside Chelsea Gray, Brittney Sykes, Kahleah Copper, Azurá Stevens, and Lexie Hull, she will now look to win the league's inaugural title when the action begins on Friday.

Leading up to the start of the season, Reese has been in Florida getting ready with her teammates. While speaking with members of the press, she praised the facilities provided by Unrivaled and was quoted by TalkSport as saying:

“I would stay here forever. Everything I need is here — from massages to cold tubs, to being able to have resources, to workouts and everything.”

While Unrivaled's facilities may be more impressive than Chicago Sky's current training facility, the team is working on finishing up a new facility worth $38 million, which is set to be ready before the 2026 season. Given that Angel Reese is set to be under contract through the 2027 season, if the team exercises their option, she'll have plenty of time to make use of the new facility.
