Chennedy Carter was an important asset for the Sky last season. She was the major contributor to the franchise's offense while Angel Reese handled the defensive front. She averaged 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game last season. However, her efforts were not enough as the Sky failed to secure a playoff spot and as a consequence the franchise sent Teresa Weatherspoon packing.

After the WNBA entered the offseason, Carter decided to take her talents to overseas while her former teammates decided to play in the 3x3 basketball league Unrivaled.
