Shaquille O'Neal and more stars were out to watch the 2024 WNBA regular season's final game between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever. The LA Lakers legend was one of the high-profile names who made it to Wintrust Arena to watch another duel between Caitlin Clark and Shaq's protegée Angel Reese.
The "Big Diesel" was spotted entering the arena, dapping up and embracing several people, including Chicago Bulls star rookie Matas Buzelis.
O'Neal and Buzelis weren't the only stars watching this game at the arena. WNBA legend Sue Bird and her fiancée Megan Rapinoe were spotted by Sky reporter Annie Costabile with fans before tip-off.
This game carried high expectations since it was the final one between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark in the 2024 regular season.
In the hours prior to tip-off, the average ticket cost $334, a 400% increase from the original price, making this game the most expensive in WNBA history. Reese and Clark are two of the biggest attractions in the league, and whenever they lock horns, fans make sure to tune in.
Shaquille O'Neal hyped up Angel Reese's most recent venture
Angel Reese has found a big supporter in Shaquille O'Neal, who served as a mentor for her during her college days and then offered her off-court opportunities. Upon announcing Reese's podcast, 'Unapologetically Angel,' Shaq showed his excitement about this new project on Instagram.
"Excited to partner with Angel on her new podcast, “Unapologetically Angel”, and have her be part of The Big Podcast Network. Can’t wait to see what she creates and join her on her show to tell you our stories!" he captioned the post.
In April, O'Neal dubbed Reese the greatest athlete to come out of LSU. He signed the forward to Reebok, and Reese has an important role as the company releases its first basketball sneaker in over a decade.
Reese also emulated one of Shaq's records last week, becoming the first rookie to record consecutive 20+ rebound games in the NBA or WNBA since O'Neal in 1993.
