Angel Reese made her Unrivaled debut on Friday in Rose Basketball Club's 79-73 loss to Aliyah Boston's Vinyl Basketball Club at the MediaPro Center in Miami. The Chicago Sky star picked up right where she left off in the 2024 WNBA season, showcasing her skills on the court.
Reese delivered a double-double, once again demonstrating her dominance on the boards. The former LSU standout put together an all-around performance, finishing with 10 points, 14 rebounds and four assists, though she also committed five turnovers. The one-time WNBA All-Star shot 3 of 7 from the field and made both her free throws.
Reese’s return to professional basketball sparked a buzz on social media, with fans sharing their thoughts on her showing in her Unrivaled debut.
"3-7 and 5 turnovers. Still Brick Barbie and selfish pretending to be a guard but constantly throwing the ball away," a fan commented.
"Watched full game lmao. She was just traveling and throwing bad passes. All that energy on Hamby ain’t work either she fouled her every play," another wrote.
"5 turnovers and the L but that doesn't matter, does it?" a user said.
"Not the DREB highlighted to let the haters know," another commented.
"3 -7 FGs. Still trash," a fan wrote.
"Still missin her shots n grabbing them Rebs I see," another user posted.
Angel Reese eager to refine her skills
Before her debut, Angel Reese shared her excitement about using the inaugural season of the Unrivaled league as an opportunity to refine her skills and incorporate new elements into her game.
"It's gonna make it so much easier I think. Obviously there's a lot more space in 3-on-3 here," Reese said. "But just being able to work on 1-on-1 skills and just being able to dominate your matchup, I think it'll make it easier."
Meanwhile, Reese will be in action again on Saturday when the Rose Basketball Club will cross swords against the Lunar Owls.
