WNBA star Angel Reese was upset after a famous Instagram page posted a video where she's seen twerking alongside her Unrivaled teammates. "Theshaderoom" shared a video initially posted by Marina Mabrey on TikTok. Reese and Chelsea Gray are seen dancing while Mabrey comments on their moves.
"Whew! 😩 #AngelReese was in there cuttin’ up with her teammates," they captioned the post.
Reese took offense to the post and called them out for posting everything and anything she does on social media.
"yall are sooo weird. like it gets to a point. stop posting me like me & my teammates can’t have fun in the locker room anymore??? stop posting any & everything about me," she commented.
Fans defended Angel Reese and questioned why she couldn't post a video twerking in the locker room. The Shade Room has shared three posts involving the Chicago Sky young star in the last week, first celebrating her selection as Vogue Magazine's "When Sports Met Fashion" issue.
The next day, the page shared another post of Reese celebrating the achievement, and more recently, they shared the video of Unrivaled stars talking about their celebrity look-alikes. None of these three posts drew the same type of response as for the twerking video.
Angel Reese, Marina Mabrey clear the air on controversy surrounding Mabrey's Chicago Sky exit
Angel Reese and Marina Mabrey's reunion on Team Rose BC in Unrivaled has mended their animosity (if there ever was one). The pair shared the court for most of the 2024 WNBA season until the guard was traded to the Connecticut Sun before the All-Star break.
Rumors suggested that Reese was involved in Mabrey's exit from the Sky, but the veteran quickly dismissed that notion. In a video shared by Reese, they cleared the air.
"Money Mabrey, we have a conspiracy," Reese started. "People wanna know. ... Marina, did you leave Chicago because of me?"
"No. I love Angel," Mabrey responded while making a heart with her hands.
The Sky looked worse after Mabrey left the team. They heavily relied on Chennedy Carter to get things going on offense, while Reese tried to step up on that side of the ball but wasn't successful.
The Sun were one win away from playing in the 2024 WNBA Finals, but the Minnesota Lynx ruined their plans. This left Mabrey and Co. with a bad taste and prompted the firing of coach Stephanie White.
