Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark continue to be pitted against each other by some of their fans. The two rookies are trying to turn their respective teams into competitive squads, taking more responsibilities every game. That said, some of their fans are getting used to trying to bring down one of these players to elevate the other.

A fan shared a shocking Angel Reese stat on Tuesday, revealing that the Chicago Sky star has been blocked 54 times in 24 games this WNBA season. It gives Reese the unflattering honor of being the most blocked player in WNBA history.

"Angel Reese is officially the most Blocked player in a single season in WNBA History (54 times in only 24 games). The Swatted Barbie still has 16 games left this season. How many more times will Reese get her shot Rejected 🤔," this fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

This post rubbed many people the wrong way, sparking another debate between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark, with some comparing Reese getting blocked to Clark turning the ball over.

First, some fans made fun of the stat.

"Swatted Barbie is wild af," one fan wrote.
"That’s because she just throws it up and hopes to get her own rebound and maybe get two or three rebounds on every possession," another fan said.
"She only shoots from under the basket and can’t make threes. That’s why she has so many rebounds she just lives under the basket and catches her own missed shots," another fan wrote.

Then, the attention shifted to Caitlin Clark, who has become infamous for turning the ball over.

"Blocks don’t necessarily lead to a loss of possession, but TOs do. This negative stat is meaningless without additional context," one fan stated.

A'ja Wilson has strong message about Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese

While some fans and analysts try to push a feud between the two star rookies, superstar A'ja Wilson has blamed it on men pitting fellow WNBA players against each other.

"We have all been rookies before, so why would I hate on a rookie class now all of a sudden? I’ve been in that same spot. I’ve been in that heat.’I’ve been in that seat. So for me, as a veteran, to hear that there are these men talking gibberish and garbage and trying to pit us against each other, it really kind of stung me a little bit.”

These two players are in a race for the Rookie of the Year award, and no matter how hard others try to praise them, it seems that won't prevent fans from defending one player and attacking the other.
