Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty tied up the WNBA Finals 1-1 with an 80-66 win over the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday. The physical matchup featured 30 fouls, 15 for each team, and a flagrant.
Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu fed into the heated contest with a viral moment following a Napheesa Collier foul.
Fans reacted to the moment on X, comparing Ionescu's fiery clapping following Collier's foul to WNBA Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark.
"When she got called for the travel and she said "that was bad" to the refs I was like that has Caitlin written all over it," one fan said, comparing Ionescu's tendencies to Caitlin Clark.
"You can't convince me that [Caitlin Clark] and [Sabrina Ionescu] aren't the same person sometimes," one fan posted.
"When they hugged it out at the All-Star Game, it didn’t feel a little bit like the avengers getting together," one fan said of Cat and Sab.
Fans continued to compare Ionescu's clap to Clark's in the comments.

Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty earned a win in Game 2 of the WNBA Finals, topping the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday night. The defensive battle was highlighted by four scorers in double figures for the Liberty.
Ionescu was third on the team in scoring, finishing with 15 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals. She shot 5-9 from the field and 2-5 from three-point range.
Breanna Stewart led the way for the Liberty in Game 2, with a team-high 21 points, along with eight rebounds, five assists and a mind-boggling seven steals. Betnijah Laney-Hamilton also played up to the big stage, pouring in 20 points, shooting 8-14 from the field and 4-5 from three-point territory.
Jonquel Jones was New York's fourth double-digit scorer, adding 14 points and nine rebounds.
The Liberty limited the Lynx to just six three-pointers on 20 attempts while also forcing 20 turnovers in an impressive defensive display.
