Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever saw their WNBA season come to an end after Wednesday's 87-81 loss to the Connecticut Sun. The rookie sensation finally got her break after a relentless schedule that saw her in action for 10 months, dating back to November last year when the college season commenced.

Clark understandably wants time away from basketball, and her latest offseason plans suggest the same. While talking to reporters after Wednesday's season-ending loss, Clark said she wants to try her hand at golf.

"Maybe play some golf," Clark said (h/t Indiana Fever reporter Chloe Peterson on X). "That's what I'm gonna do until it gets cold in Indiana ... I'll become a professional golfer."

Clark's comments came after she revealed her plans to be away from basketball following the Fever's season-ending loss. The former Iowa prospect has no plans to play overseas like other players.

Clark has barely had any rest since the 2023-24 college season started. She was back in action in May, making her WNBA debut. There was a month-long gap in July and August because of the Olympic and All-Star break.

However, Caitlin Clark still had 16 games to play after that in five weeks, including the playoffs.

Caitlin Clark once revealed her love for golf after drawing large crowd to John Deere Classic pro-am

Caitlin Clark knows a thing or two about golf. The Fever rookie was in action at the John Deere Classic pro-am in 2023, showing off her skills in the sport and impressing hundreds of young fans who came to watch her.

Clark showed off her impressive swing at the event and discussed her love for the sport.

"I’m a big fan of golf. I love to play it and be around it," Clark said (via PGA Tour.com). "I think it’s just really fun. Every Sunday, I usually have the TV on and am watching (the PGA TOUR)."
“More than anything else, this was about enjoying the experience,” she added. “It’s just cool getting to interact with the young kids who were here today. I was trying to make as much time as I could to sign an autograph, or give them a ball or a high five because that goes a long way.”

While Caitlin Clark has also shown signs of being a multi-sport athlete, having impressed in her high-school freshman season as a soccer player, she has yet to pursue playing golf on a more regular basis.

Nevertheless, Clark has plenty of time amid the WNBA's prolonged offseason, during which she could figure out her plans and try her hand at golf over a long period after deciding to stay away from the basketball court briefly.
