Veteran sports analyst Jason Whitlock provided his explanation about the potential reason why the WNBPA put fellow journalist Christine Brennan on blast. Whitlock already criticized the players' association for calling out Brennan for asking a legitimate question to DiJonai Carrington about her eye poke on Caitlin Clark.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Whitlock shared his thoughts on why WNBPA executive Terri Carmichael Jackson wrote a statement singling out Brennan. He believes the USA Today columnist writing a book about Clark's success is making a lot of WNBA players "irate."

"A lot of legit journalists are rallying around Christine Brennan, the USA Today columnist who the WNBA Players Association has targeted for asking a question to DiJonai Carrington," Whitlock tweeted. "I'm glad it's happening. But at some point, journalists are going to have to deal with the fact that the nonstop pandering to black women and black athletes created this insanity."

The 57-year-old columnist added:

"Christine is in the process of reporting out a book on Caitlin Clark and the rise of this phenomenon. Christine is a Hall of Fame journalist. It's not the question to DiJonai. The WNBA players are irate that a book is being written about Clark. The media created this entitlement. The entitled have made Brennan an enemy. If it can happen to Christine, it will happen to you."

Jason Whitlock was very critical of the WNBPA's statement on Christine Brennan. Whitlock was seemingly baffled by it, posting on Sept. 28:

"Good lord. They've labeled Christine Brennan an enemy. You don't have a stronger ally. These women are absolutely insane. Christine asked a legitimate question. The kind of question male athletes are asked constantly. These entitled women have turned into Frankenstein," Whitlock tweeted.

USA Today and a few other journalists showed their support of Christine Brennan following the WNBPA's call for her credentials to be removed.

Christine Brennan already moving forward after WNBPA statement

Despite the WNBPA's statement, Christine Brennan is seemingly already moving forward amid the debate on social media about her question to DiJonai Carrington. Brennan quote posted a message from fellow journalist Bob Kravitz of the Indianapolis Monthly on her official X account.

"Thank you @bkravitz. Talk about doing a job exceedingly well … that’s you! Here’s to everything we love about the wonderful adventure of being a sports journalist. Onward," Brennan wrote.

Brennan also thanked fellow journalists Ryan Glasspiegel and Stefan Bondy of the New York Post, and Kevin Van Valkenburg of No Laying Up for the supportive messages they wrote on social media.
