Angel Reese's fans called out Indiana Fever supporters for allegedly buying fake followers for Kate Martin's Unrivaled team. They accused Fever fans on X, formerly Twitter, of supporting Laces Basketball Club to go against the Chicago Sky star.
One fan explicitly called out Fever fans and made allegations against them in his tweet.
Another supported the post author's narrative while berating Fever fans.
Other fans joined the bandwagon and expressed similar sentiments in the post's comment section.
"Those aren't fans those are haters that are obsessed with angel's every move," a fan tweeted.
"It’s weird how badly they hate the Sky and it’s fans. Yet they’re always curious as to who we might trade for or sign in FA," another fan tweeted.
"Yet they claim she doesn't matter, smh," another fan tweeted.
One fan posted a screenshot of the accounts that followed Laces BC's Instagram handle to add credibility to the claim.
"Damn that’s crazy that fever fans would do something unhinged and pathetic, sounds noooooothing like them," another fan tweeted.
Reese will also be playing in Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart's 3x3 basketball club Unrivaled as a member of the Rose Basketball Club.
Why did Angel Reese's fans allege Fever fans helped Laces BC gain fake followers on their Instagram handle?
Angel Reese's fans accused Fever supporters of helping the Laces BC gain fake followers because of a post the Chicago Sky star made on Jan. 6. Reese gathered her followers on X and asked them to support Rose BC's Instagram handle after learning that her team was not the most followed Unrivaled team on Instagram.
The Chicago Sky star was among the most popular WNBA players on Instagram. She had over four million followers on her Instagram handle before deactivating it on the first day of 2025. Reese's post made a difference as Rose BC's following skyrocketed and matched the Laces BC.
At the time of writing, the Laces BC still had the lead over Rose BC. Laces have 25.9K followers while the Rose are at 25.5K. So when Reese's fans discovered inactive accounts in Laces' list of followers, they accused Fever fans because of the Angel Reese-Caitlin Clark rivalry.
