Aliyah Boston and her Indiana Fever teammates expressed excitement over the hiring of Keith Porter in mid-December. The player development coach, who worked for the Connecticut Sun for two years, joined new Fever head coach Stephanie White in Indiana.

Porter is credited with helping improve the game of Sun stars Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner.

On Monday, the Fever shared a clip of an exclusive Boston workout with Porter. The WNBA All-Star shared the post with the caption:

“Keith is the real deal !!! great work.”

Porter said at the start of the video that they would concentrate on footwork, mobility and “just working on being better every day.” Boston began the workout by shooting close-range shots before extending the distance. They focused on her follow-through mechanics, particularly when she uses the glass to shoot.

The training session took place at Worcester Academy, the school Aliyah Boston attended in high school. A few weeks ago, her alma mater honored her by retiring her jersey, the first in the program’s history.

The workout with Porter included spin moves inside the paint and perfecting her rolls after coming off screens. They capped off the intense training with shooting from behind the arc.

The Indiana Fever are expected to pick up Aliyah Boston’s club option in 2026

Aliyah Boston signed a three-year, $233,400 rookie deal with the Indiana Fever in 2023. She will be on the books for $83,300 in 2025, per Spotrac. The Fever are expected to pick up a club option, giving Boston another year for $94,700.

Boston is one of Indiana’s franchise cornerstones. Since the team drafted her No. 1 in the 2023 WNBA draft, she has not disappointed. She earned back-to-back All-Star appearances and is looking to be even better next year.

With Caitlin Clark, the two carried the Fever to the postseason in 2024, the team’s first since 2016. They were swept by the Connecticut Sun in the first round but could push for a better finish in 2025.

The hiring of Stephanie White and Keith Porter could help make Boston even better. With White raving about her, it will only be a matter of time before the Fever pick up the team’s club option for the two-time All-Star.
