WNBA fans called out the league for promoting a controversial journalist with a history of bias against Caitlin Clark. In an X post on Sunday, Ken Swift highlighted that the WNBA was crediting Roberta Rodrigues for reporting Jewell Loyd's trade situation with the Seattle Storm.

Swift reposted his former post with additional information later. He accompanied a screenshot of WNBA crediting Rodrigues and expressed his opinion on the subject.

"This is a perfect example of the WNBA wanting to build up someone who has been so incredibly biased and unprofessional, which is insane. Her connections at the Storm leak her the info, then the WNBA promotes her substack. This is the same woman who called Caitlin Clark a spoiled teenage white boy."

When other fans came across the post, they dropped into the comments section to express their thoughts.

"I don’t get why they would work with someone who has a few hundred followers," one fan said.
"This little posse over at the W still going unchecked is ruining engagement for the league - no one should be giving Roberta oxygen," another fan said.
"These ‘professional journalists’ are held to lower standards than ‘Caitlin Clark fans’ with 30 followers," another fan said.

One fan said that he would not support Rodrigues as she was a 'hater.'

"I would not share. Imo she’s a hating slob"
"She blocked me, but even if she hadn't i wouldn't share or promote anything of hers," another fan said.
"She never had a chance to block me since I muted her lol she’s terrible," another fan said.

Roberta Rodrigues has found herself at the center of many controversies in the past year. The most prominent one is her comments on Caitlin Clark where she references her as a 'spoiled teenage white boy.'

She criticized the Rookie of the Year for getting babysat by her teammates, letting them get technical fouls because of her.

Rodrigues was one of the first persons to report on the Storm investigation concerning the mistreatment of players. However, after her report, she faced attacks on her account where people tried to access her X handle.

Moreover, she called people questioning her credibility 'xenophobic' after her reports on Damiris Dantas' delay in joining the Fever turned out to be true.

Roberta Rodrigues once shot down claims of Caitlin Clark getting the same treatment as soccer star Lionel Messi

Before the 3x3 basketball league Unrivaled started, they were in the recruiting phase. Last year in October, Michael McCarthy, senior media reporter for Front Office Sports reported that Unrivaled was offering Clark a similar deal to the soccer sensation Lionel Messi.

However, Rodrigues shot down McCarthy's claim and pointed out that offering Caitlin Clark a special deal would be unfair to other WNBA athletes joining the project.

"CC is not nearly close to Messi. If Unrivaled stand for fairness, then that’s a big miss. Either offer all players the same contract or be transparent about why some are different than others," she posted on X.

However, it didn't matter as Clark did not sign with the 3x3 basketball league and preferred to try her hand at golf during the offseason. On the other hand, Unrivaled enjoyed major success on their opening night on Jan. 17.

They have received a great response with fans tuning in to watch their games and packing the stadium, even without Caitlin Clark.
