Marina Mabrey is facing Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky tonight for the first time after being traded to the Connecticut Sun. The veteran guard requested a trade from the Sky and was shipped to Mohegan Sun Arena after the Sky's last game before the All-Star break

Her exit from the team might have been more contentious than it first appeared, as her former teammates ignored Mabrey once they hit the court for today's shootaround. Footage shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, shows that every player, including Angel Reese, walked past Mabrey like she wasn't even there.

"Sky players treating Mabry like she got Covid," X user @kenswift tweeted earlier today.

The video shows several Sky players, including Chennedy Carter, hugging some Sun players while ignoring Mabrey's presence. She was speaking with a Sun staffer while all of this happened, but fans were quick to point out and criticize the behavior of the Sky players.

"The more I learn about the Sky the more I like Mabry as a person without knowing anything about her," one fan said.

Some agreed that the Sky is a toxic environment and supported Mabrey's decision to request a trade.

"Said it when traded , bet she's glad to be leaving that dumpster fire 🔥," another fan wrote.
"Mabry demanded a trade for a reason 😉," another fan chimed in.

Somebody said it might be a mutual feeling since Mabrey approached only one of her former teammates.

"Most likely it’s mutual it looks like," one fan commented.

Another fan was curious about what prompted her to request a trade, and someone else suggested that Angel Reese and Chennedy Carter were part of the problem.

Marina Mabrey caught a lot of attention earlier in the day. The five-year veteran spoke about the differences between playing for the Sun, saying that she's finally part of a team with championship aspirations.

“Being a part of a team like this that is so disciplined with a championship mindset, I haven’t been a part of that yet,” Mabrey said via the Chicago Sun-Times.

This might be the reason why the Sky players walked past her and didn't even acknowledge her presence. She was one of the best players on the team in the first half of the season, alongside Angel Reese, but now is focused on helping a different organization challenge for the title.

In three games with the Sun, Mabrey is averaging 30.9 minutes, 11.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game.
