With several high-profile stars such as A'ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, and Brittney Griner, the USA Women's Basketball team is expected to be heavy favorites for the Olympics. While there have been questions about the team snubbing rookie star Caitlin Clark, the roster boasts some of the biggest stars in the WNBA today.
Griner, for example, is a two-time Olympian, winning gold with Team USA in Tokyo in 2020, and Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
At the same time, the team will have some young firepower in the form of stars such as Kahleah Copper, who will be looking to win her first Olympic gold medal. Looking at the USA Women's Basketball starting five, and their schedule for the 2024 Paris Olympics
At the WNBA All-Star game, coach Emma Hayes rolled out a starting five of Jewell Loyd, Chelsea Gray, Diana Taurasi, Breanna Stewart, and A'ja Wilson. Throughout the game, Brianna Stewart led the team in minutes with 31, racking up a 31-point, 10-rebound double-double.
A'ja Wilson played 29 minutes, finishing with 22 points, six rebounds, and three steals, marking a dominant outing for the reigning WNBA Finals MVP.
While the USA Women's Basketball team has not confirmed the lineup for their first game in Paris. Stewart and Wilson will be starting in the showcase game against Germany. In addition, the USA Basketball account on X, (formerly Twitter), has revealed that alongside Stewart and Wilson, Napheesa Collier, Diana Taurasi, and Chelsea Gray will all be starting.

After the round-robin Group Phase, teams who advance will then play their quarterfinal matchups on August 7, with semifinal action then set to resume on August 9. Then, on August 11, the bronze and gold medal games will take place back-to-back.
Currently, Team USA is the overwhelming betting favorite with -1800 odds to win, followed by Australia in second place with +2200 odds according to DraftKings.
