Caitlin Clark is one of the most competitive players regardless of the sport or competition. Many of her former and current teammates have shared stories about the point guard’s relentless desire to be better than everyone around her. The unbending drive to be at the top has helped her reach lofty heights in basketball.

On Sunday, an X, formerly Twitter, account shared a compilation of some of Clark’s most heated moments and competitive fire.

Fans promptly reacted to the collection:

“She’s a punk and disrespects the game. Can’t stand her. Don’t care how good she can shoot. She is a petulant crybaby,” one tweeted.

One said:

“omg inject it in my veins”

Another commented:

“I miss thinking she was one of the good ones.”

@rightNowYezzir wrote:

“She coming season 2. She knows now it’s her league, so she gon let everyone have it”

@Kingkoob3 reacted:

“She’s always complaining. I hope the refs don’t help her as much as they did in college”

The clip was a collection of Caitlin Clark talking trash to opponents, complaining to referees and reacting to different game situations. Some called her “petulant” and a “crybaby,” but many appreciated her competitive fire and compared her with NBA greats like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

The reactions from fans weren’t surprising. Clark is one of sports’ most polarizing figures and the WNBA’s biggest draw. A historical rookie year where she broke multiple league and franchise records only put more spotlights on her.

Caitlin Clark is taking a break from basketball

Caitlin Clark is arguably the biggest name not playing in the Unrivaled, the 3x3 basketball league founded by WNBA stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart. Clark reportedly begged to be away from the league, which will open in mid-January, following a whirlwind 2024.

The reigning Rookie of the Year winner reportedly wanted to take time off after a long basketball season. She led the Iowa Hawkeyes to the NCAA championship game in early April before joining the pros a week later.

In her first year with the Indiana Fever, she led them to the playoffs for the first time since 2016. They played well in the postseason but were swept by the playoff-hardened Connecticut Sun in two games.

Caitlin Clark hasn't ruled out joining Unrivaled in the future. For now, though, she has enjoyed her postseason playing golf, watching Butler, Iowa and Indiana Pacers basketball games and tasting food and drinks.
