Connecticut Sun teammates DiJonai Carrington and Marina Mabrey created a stir on social media with their exchange about cooking on Friday. Mabrey started the hilarious back and forth when she declared she could “finally cook.” She posted a photo on X of her seasoning essentials: avocado oil spray, pure ground black pepper and pink salt.
Carrington reacted, saying she nearly spat out her drink after seeing what Mabrey bought. The 2024 WNBA Most Improved Player then brought her teammate a “starter pack” to help with her cooking journey.
Lisa Leslie, a three-time WNBA MVP, reacted to the hilarious interaction between Carrington and Mabrey.
“Oh she ready now! Wash the meat first😂,” Leslie wrote.
When Marina Mabrey received the pack from DiJonai Carrington, she promptly went on X to write:
“I truly appreciate this I’m gonna have to make a video of my next meal lol”
Marina Mabrey, DiJonai Carrington and Lisa Leslie are part of the Unrivaled league

Mabrey will suit up for Phantom BC, which will be coached by Adam Harrington. Her teammates include Natasha Cloud, Brittney Griner, Sabrina Ionescu, Satou Sabally and Katie Lou Samuelson.
