Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky are ready to lock horns with the LA Sparks in their second game of the second half of the season. The rookie forward has gotten fans used to seeing her wear note-worthy outfits before games. She turned heads ahead of the Sparks game thanks to her outfit selection.
Reese made it to Crypto.Com Arena wearing an all-black outfit comprising a top and skirt. She chose a black bag and black sandals to complete her attire for a challenging game. She posed for the cameras upon her arrival, giving photographers a lot of material.
The Sky didn't have the best return to the court, as they couldn't get past the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday. Led by Kahleah Copper, the Phoenix handled the Sky and got an 85-65 win to start the season on the right foot.
Reese failed on the offensive end of the ball, only scoring 11 points on 4-of-14 from the field and 3-for-8 from the free-throw line. She still completed her double-double after grabbing 15 rebounds, but the Sky couldn't get the victory in their much-awaited return.
WNBA Commissioner lauded Angel Reese, Caitlin Clark ahead of league's return
Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark have been mentioned in the same breath as two of the best rookies to play in the league. The Sky and the Fever rookies were in a fierce race to win the award before the All-Star break hit. Now that the league is back, many fans hope to see them going at it again.
WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert had a strong message about this duo. She called them 'generational' and raved about their early impact on the league's popularity.
"These generational rookies like Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, that rivalry coming out of college, so, I didn't know it would happen this quickly, but the attendance, the viewership, and everything has gone great," Engelbert said this week.
Reese still has work to do to become a legitimate two-way threat in the league. The Chicago Sky found a gem with her and if she works on her offensive game, she will have big chances to be even bigger in the W.
Ahead of the Sparks game, Reese averages 13.4 points, 12.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. The Sky are 10-15 at this moment, hoping to get things back on track against the Sparks.
