Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark holds the WNBA record for the most 3-pointers for a rookie in a season. On Wednesday, Clark hit a stepback that set her free from Connecticut Suns' DiJonai Carrington's lockdown defense to have ample space to make the long-range shot and break the record.

Before Clark, Rhyne Howard had the record for the most 3s by a rookie in a season, with 85 in 2022. The rookie's shot over Carrington put her at the top with 86.

Tonight is the fourth and final matchup between the Fever and the Sun. Clark is on a mission to get a win, as they have been winless against the Sun in their past three games.

Clark has done so much in her rookie campaign. She's been an All-Star, Player of the Week and a record holder for 3-pointers. The former Iowa star is averaging 18.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists in 30 games. She's shooting 33.3% from the three, which isn't impressive. However, she's improved over the past four games and has knocked down 36.8% of the 3-pointers.

So far, she ranks first in six categories among rookies and third in three categories. Clark has been on fire since the WNBA season resumed after the Olympic break.

Dwight Howard asked an interesting question regarding Caitlin Clark

With the way Caitlin Clark has played this season, it could be possible that she might end up with two awards this year: the Rookie of the Year and the Most Valuable Player award. The only rookie to achieve such a feat was Candace Parker in 2008.

Former NBA star Dwight Howard presented the question to fans on social media.

"Will Caitlin Clark be the first player to win ROTY & MVP since Candace Parker 👀," Howard asked.

Clark has shown that she can do what other players are capable of doing. However, given the talent presented by other players like Breanna Stewart, A'ja Wilson, and more, it could be hard for the Fever rookie to secure both individual awards.
