Caitlin Clark received a custom chain from Miami-based GLD after Erica Wheeler requested it from the jewelry company. GLD's official Instagram account shared a video of Wheeler and Clark asking for a custom piece.
"What y'all gon' do, GLD?" Wheeler asked.
"22! Let's go. Just one more thing to do, give me the chain," Clark asked.
The second part of the video showed Clark after she got a "22" pendant that featured 1,000 handsets of Very, Very Slightly Included (VVS) Diamonds totaling over 12 karats.
"Shout out GLD for this custom piece. It's pretty sick," Clark said in response.
The Pittsburgh company, founded in 2015, has become a jewelry leader. Since its inception nearly a decade ago, it has gone international and boasts official licenses from the NBA, NFL, NCAA and MLB. Other athletes like Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony and celebrities like ASAP Rocky and Wiz Khalifa are also part of its lineup, proving it is a well-established brand.
With Clark now in this group, plenty of people, including Wheeler, are hyped about her choice.
Clark keeps winning on and off the court, but as she's repeatedly stated, her main focus is taking Indiana to the 2024 WNBA playoffs.
Sue Bird warns WNBA teams about Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever
Seattle Storm legend Sue Bird had a strong message about Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. The retired guard highlighted the Fever play at a quick pace, which can be an advantage in the postseason.
"In my WNBA experience, I’ve learned that pace of play outweighs physicality. It can surpass size and experience because sometimes experience just means you’re a veteran, which often translates to older,” she said.
“And what I see in Caitlin and Kelsey Mitchell is a relentless drive that’s tough to handle. It can really throw off opponents.”
While some active players aren't fond of Clark, Bird hasn't hesitated to praise her. Moreover, she sees the Fever as a likely playoff threat if their opponents don't make adjustments.
Following a 1-9 start this season, Indiana is now two games under the .500 mark (13-15) ahead of a key matchup against Minnesota tomorrow night. In one of their last games before the All-Star break, the Fever beat the Lynx 81-74.
